The people around you have a huge impact on your mindset so stay close to those who have a positive impact, rather than exhausting you with a negative one. It’s your choice.
If negativity is coming from someone who is important to you, before cutting them from your life give them a chance to understand by explaining what you’re working hard for and why it matters to you. If they love and support you, they will make an effort to understand.
The right people can help you learn, gain confidence and think bigger when it comes to your goals. Don’t just wait to bump into these people; actively seek them out in online communities, at meet ups or on Twitter.
People who aren’t supportive of your goals don’t deserve to be in your life. Our brains can only handle a finite number of relationships, so put effort into the ones who do support you, and let go of the rest in order to make room for more valuable relationships.
Not every single person in your life has to have the same mindset as you, or be super motivated and ambitious. It’s important to have friends with different perspectives to keep you open minded. They may not do what you do, they just have to be supportive.
