Boundaries are really important, and they've become even more important as more of us are working from home. This week on Design Life we chat about the boundaries we set in our jobs and how we share them with our teams and managers.
We all give a lot to our jobs, sometimes maybe a little too much. It is difficult to know where the line is or where it should be, how much of yourself you should bring to work and how much work you should bring home. Sometimes it is only when a boundary is crossed that we can see we already had one, and with good reason.
Say no to requests to do odd jobs. Delegate to other team members who might have a little more space to take on odd jobs. A key part of being a designer is knowing where to put your efforts in relation to you work and tasks that are assigned and asked of you.
Set daily or weekly ‘focus time’. Align this with other members of your team.
